About the Food Hub

What is the Press Bay Food Hub?

The Press Bay Food Hub is a project of the Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming.

Originally launched by Urban Core, LLC in March 2020 and thru Sept 30th 2021, the Press Bay Food Hub served as a collection and distribution point for local farms to access their downtown customers providing contactless pickup during the peak of the COVID19 pandemic. In July 2021 the Meat Locker joined the Food Hub services.

The Meat Locker is open to new folks looking to store larger amounts of frozen meat.

In December 2021, Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming took over operation of the Press Bay Food Hub. With pandemic restrictions lifting the mission of the food hub has changed and we are working to develop the concept for the next generation. Urban Core and Groundswell remain committed to providing access to freshly farmed local food in the center of the city.
