The Meat Locker is now managed by Groundswell
Press Bay Food Hub is a project of Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming in partnership with Urban Core, LLC. Groundswell and Urban Core are committed to our solidarity pricing model and keeping the Meat Locker available for all Tompkins residents, continuing to serve the mission to provide access and opportunities for direct market sales of local meats. We believe that this management transfer will provide excellent customer service for the community and streamline the options to purchase local meats through the Press Bay Food Hub, with the option to arrange for Meat Locker storage.
CCE Tompkins is pleased to support Urban Core’s partnership with Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming. This partnership will make The Meat Locker and other Press Bay storage facilities available to beginning and immigrant farmers, providing the infrastructure needed to bring their products to market.
Urban Core, LLC has been a committed partner since the Meat Locker was established in 2014 and we at CCE Tompkins are grateful for their partnership and ongoing commitment to local farmers and their customers. We are excited to see them increase our food shed’s infrastructure here in Tompkins through the Press Bay Food Hub and other initiatives.
